What makes our Haddock special?

Most Haddock on the market has been previously frozen at sea. Our Haddock is caught in day-boat trips and delivered to us fresh. Day-boat is a term used when a fishing vessel does not spend multiple days at sea, often freezing fish on the boat.

Description

Our fresh Gulf of Maine Haddock Fillet is one of our best-selling fresh fish options at SoPo Seafood. Our Haddock is available to buy online for next-day overnight shipping or for pickup at our South Portland Seafood Market.

When it comes to fresh fish, Mainers love their haddock. If you want to prepare our haddock in a classic Maine/New England style, start by crushing up some Ritz crackers. Sprinkle the Ritz crackers on the haddock and then bake.

Our Haddock fillet is skin off and sold by the pound. You can expect a slightly sweet and mild flavor with this whitefish, perfect for baking, frying, or chowder.

Our Haddock is restaurant quality; we are sure you will taste and see the difference with this fish.

Please note that we always prioritize haddock caught by local boats in the Gulf of Maine. However, there are occasions when locally caught haddock is not available; in cases where we cannot source local fish, we turn to Icelandic-caught haddock. 95% of the time, we source our fish from the Gulf of Maine. Please email us at sales@soposeafood.com if you have any questions.
